The wings are from “Pick a Petal” stamp set (RRP $52.95) stamped in real red ink onto whisper white card stock, cut each one out, then placed onto a couple of circles (1 ” I think) punched out of black card stock, with dimensionals to pop them up. Some of the wings had crystal effects, and others have had dazzlin diamonds applied. I then used the white gel pen to colour the eyes, and black journalling pen to draw in the antennae and the flying lines.. I use them to pop onto other cards for funky kids birthday cards. I’m sure there’s heaps of other things you could do with them too! Hope you like them!Posts Tagged ‘card’

Cute boy card featuring ‘choo choo’

Love this little train stamp set. It’s suitable to use for boys of all ages!!
Using ‘in colours’, I stamped a number of each of the images, then cut around each one with scissors. The wheel stamp that coordinates (‘right on track’ $11.95 plus shipping) with the train set, was then wheeled on using chocolate chip ink, and the train pieces applied with dimensionals to ‘raise’ them up on the card.
Not only is the new train set ‘choo choo’ ($29.95 plus shipping) in the mini catalogue out at the moment, SU has also released a couple of single stamps! The “Birthday Wish” ($13.95 plus shipping) is one of them!
I made a ‘10′ to go onto one of the train pieces. My newphew turned 10 last week, I know it is a bit ‘little’ for him, but hopefully he likes it.
Ladybirds.. lady bugs.. beetles… great kids cards!
I saw these a while back, and decided to make a few. Aren’t they great?

Cute baby cards
I have often looked at other people’s take on these baby ‘onesie’ cards, and as a friend of my recently became a grandmother, I thought I’d go creating for her. Thanks to Lauren M for the tutorial (have a look at her site, she has some GREAT tutorials). I found this one slightly difficult to follow, I think if you start with a card 10″ x 4 1/4″, it should work. I also guessed the under arms and the angle.. all cut by hand with my craft rubber SU scissors! I couldn’t get my 1 3/8″ circle punch to get through 2 layers, so the bottoms were all cut separately, and then I traced around the inside of the punch and cut the neck by hand. (Happy to hear an easier way of doing this!!) I also used the word window punch for the sleeves, with the curves cut off.. this gave me the exact punch outs to use.
Hope you like it – the colour in this card is pixie pink and very vanilla, with the sentiment from ‘fast and fun notes’.
